Snow Queen’s Cookies

"Let it go! Let it go!" These few words will surely echo in your mind! Young and old alike will immediately hear the melody in their heads. Indeed, the children's idol Elsa has been making rain and snow in the kingdom of Arendelle for a couple of years now, accompanied by her loyal friends – Sven the Reindeer and Olaf the Snowman. As you can see, today we are going to show you how to create cookies inspired by Elsa the snow queen! Create your own snow world!

Ingredients for Snow Queen’s Cookies:

120 g Butter

1 Packet of Vanilla Sugar

2 Egg Yolks

40 g Sugar

200 g Flour

Royal Icing – recipe here

Method: Snow Queen’s Cookies

Mix butter with sugar and vanilla sugar in a bowl. Add flour and mix the ingredients together. Then add 2 egg yolks. Knead the dough – but do not over knead it. Shape the dough into a ball and let it rest in the fridge for 1 hour.

Dust your work surface with flour and roll out the dough. Cut out your cookies with a snowflake cookie cutter. Line baking sheet with baking paper and put the cookies onto it. Bake for about 15 minutes at 180 °C until golden brown.

Make royal icing according to our recipe – CLICK HERE.

Divide the prepared royal icing into 3 separate bowls, leaving one of them uncoloured (white). Colour the second bowl sky-blue and the third one light pink. Then put each coloured icing into a separate piping bag.

Decorate one third of the cookies with the sky-blue icing, the second third with the white icing and the third one with light pink icing. First, apply the icing onto the edges, and then move to the centre. You can also use a toothpick to spread the icing properly.

Tip: Paint magical snowflakes on your cookies with white royal icing. Make your cookie decorating perfect with coloured sugar!

You can glaze your cookies with a brush and create fine details on top with a piping bag. Always allow each colour to harden (about 20 minutes) before applying the next one.

Idea – Cookie Decorating with Children:

Once your child is able to hold a pen, decorating with a brush or a piping bag will definitely not be a problem for them. Involve your children in cookie decorating! Modify different food colourings and don't forget to use edible decorations!
