250 g Flour
125 g Butter
75 g Sugar
1 tsp. Baking Powder
125 g ground Almonds
150 g Sugar
The grated rind and juice of one orange
125 g Icing Sugar
2 tbsp. Orange Juice
Dough: Mix together the flour, baking powder, and sugar. Add in the egg and butter. Rub the mixture together until it forms a compact dough. Shape the dough into a ball and leave overnight in a cool place.
The following day:
Filling: Stir together the almonds, grated orange peel, juice, and sugar.
Roll out half the dough and place in a greased baking tin. Spread the orange filling over the pastry. Roll out the remaining dough and lay over the filling. Bake for 30 minutes at 180 °C.
Glaze: Stir the sugar and orange juice until smooth. Spread the mixture over the baked pastry. Once cool, cut the pastry into desired forms.
