Christmas Cookies for Dogs

At Christmas, we want to make others happy, we think of our loved ones and, of course, we don't forget our lovely four-legged friends.

I’m sure you already heard about dog cookies. Chezvera has a delicious recipe for cookies that you can make easily with our bone and dog cookie cutters. Your dog will definitely love them.

Ingredients for ca. 70 cookies:

200 g grated carrots

50 g grated cheese (semi-hard cheese)

250 g spelt flour (finely ground) + flour for sprinkling

½ teaspoon baking powder (ideally without phosphates)

1 egg

4 tablespoons of warm water

3 tablespoons of vegetable oil

Method:

Clean and finely grate the carrots into a large bowl. Grate the cheese and add it to the carrots. Add the flour and the baking powder to the carrots and cheese.

Beat the eggs in a bowl, add water and oil and add it to the flour, cheese and carrot mixture. Using your fingers, mix the ingredients well. If the dough is too sticky, add a little flour. Preheat the oven to 170°C.

Roll out half of the dough to about 5 mm thick on a floured surface or a baking paper. Cut out the cookies with a cookie cutter and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Repeat until all dough has been used.

Bake about 8 minutes until golden brown. Always let the cookies cool down on a wire rack before serving to dogs or place them in a tin and store in a cool, dry place.
