Banana Sheet Cake for Kids (that Adults Like too)

Ingredients:

100 g Butter

100 g White Chocolate

100 g Fine Sugar

50 g Brown Sugar

1 Egg

2 to 3 very ripe sliced Bananas

1 tsp. Vanilla Extract

225 g Flour

1/4 tsp. Baking Powder

100 g M&M's or Smarties

A little Milk

Method:

Melt white chocolate and butter over a water bath. Pour melted white chocolate mixture into a bowl. Crack an egg into the bowl, then add sugar, brown sugar, bananas and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.

Sift together flour and baking powder and add it to the previous mixture. Gently stir until the ingredients are combined and no more dry flour is visible. If your mixture is too thick, add a little milk, until you obtain the desired consistency. The batter shouldn’t be too liquid (its consistency should be similar to cake batter). Add the M&M's, keeping some aside for decorating the top of the baked banana cake.

Preheat the oven to 170 °C. Grease and line a baking sheet with baking parchment. Pour the batter into the baking sheet and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the top of the cake is golden brown. (You can stick a toothpick into the center of your banana cake. If there is wet batter still on the toothpick, it needs more time in the oven.)

Remove the cake from the oven. Leave it on the baking sheet to cool for a few minutes before attempting to remove it.

Enjoy with a cup of hot chocolate!
