Recipe for Mysterious Goblin Cookies
Ingredients
- 250g flour
- 125g butter at room temperature
- 125g sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- Jam of your choice (for jam cookies)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Preparation
1. Prepare the dough:
- Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl.
- Add butter, cut it into small pieces, and work with your fingertips until you obtain a sandy texture.
- Add the sugar and vanilla sugar.
- Add the egg and mix the dough until it is smooth.
- Form the dough into a ball, wrap in cling film and leave to rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.
2. Cut the cookies:
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of 5 mm.
- Use the pixie-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the cookies.
- For some cookies, use the round mini cookie cutter to cut out a small red nose or hollowed-out center.
3. Bake:
- Place cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are lightly browned.
- Cool completely on a wire rack.
4. Assembling the jam cookies:
- For jam cookies, spread a thin layer of jam on a solid cookie.
- Place a hollowed-out cookie on top and press lightly to stick them together.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar for a festive finish.
