Recipe for Mysterious Goblin Cookies



  • 250g flour
  • 125g butter at room temperature
  • 125g sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Jam of your choice (for jam cookies)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)



       1. Prepare the dough:

  • Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl.
  • Add butter, cut it into small pieces, and work with your fingertips until you obtain a sandy texture.
  • Add the sugar and vanilla sugar.
  • Add the egg and mix the dough until it is smooth.
  • Form the dough into a ball, wrap in cling film and leave to rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.

       2. Cut the cookies:

  • Preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
  • Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of 5 mm.
  • Use the pixie-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the cookies.
  • For some cookies, use the round mini cookie cutter to cut out a small red nose or hollowed-out center.

       3. Bake:

  • Place cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are lightly browned.
  • Cool completely on a wire rack.

       4. Assembling the jam cookies:

  • For jam cookies, spread a thin layer of jam on a solid cookie.
  • Place a hollowed-out cookie on top and press lightly to stick them together.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar for a festive finish.
