Vegan Apple Donuts – the perfect treat for carnival season
February stands for Carnival, joy, and sweet treats! If you want to enjoy a delicious and 100% vegan dessert, try these fluffy, vegan apple donuts. They are easy to make, smell wonderful, and get an irresistible festive touch from the cinnamon sugar.
Ingredients for about 15 donuts:
- 200 g flour
- 80 g brown sugar
- 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 160 ml plant-based milk (e.g., almond or oat milk)
- 90 g apple sauce
- 40 g melted coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
- Cinnamon sugar for coating
Instructions for vegan apple donuts:
- In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon.
- Add the plant-based milk, melted coconut oil, apple sauce, and lemon juice (or apple cider vinegar).
- Quickly mix everything into a smooth batter.
- Fill the donut mould with the batter using a spoon or piping bag.
- Bake in the preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 20 minutes, until the donuts are golden brown.
- Coat the warm donuts in cinnamon sugar and enjoy!
