Traditional Madeleine recipe - with chocolate chips
Here's a traditional French recipe for Madeleine's with a touch of chocolate.
Ingredients for the Madeleine's :
200 g flour
150 g caster sugar
3 eggs
1 sachet of vanilla sugar
150 g butter
100 g chocolate chips
½ untreated orange
1 sachet of baking powder
Materials used - mini Madeleine forms
Preparing for the Madeleine dough:
Mix the eggs, caster sugar, and vanilla sugar in a bowl.
Beat until frothy. Add the flour, baking powder, chocolate chips, and orange zest. Mix again.
Refrigerate for 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 210 °C.
Melt the butter, add it to the mixture, and mix until smooth.
Fill the madeleine molds with the mixture, but don't overfill to avoid overflowing.
Bake for around 8–10 minutes, until golden brown.
Turn it out and leave it to cool before serving.
