Stained Glass Cookies
Ingredients:
100 g Sugar
125 g Butter
1 Egg
300 g Plain Flour
Zest of 1 Lemon
1 tsp. Vanilla
120 g sour hard Candies
Method:
Prepare large cutters with matching small cutters to cut out the center. The larger the cut-out center the more space there's going to be for the stained glass.
Stir together the softened butter and sugar. Add plain flour, vanilla, eggs, and lemon zest. Stir until a firm ball is formed, add a little water if necessary. Place in the refrigerator for about 1 hour. Meanwhile, sort the candies according to their colors and crush into powder wrapped in a bag. Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 5 mm, cut out desired shapes and centers. Do not forget to create a hole to hang the biscuits. Fill each cut-out center with the crushed candy and bake for 2 minutes. Let the biscuits cool down and hang on your tree or window. For an even better effect, hang the biscuits in front of your Christmas lights.
