The second weekend of Advent is now behind us. Children are already looking forward to the Christmas Eve. What could be a better idea than making beautiful salt dough Christmas decorations?! This will not only bring great joy to the children, but also to you! And last but not least, you can boast about your beautiful decorations, which will save you a lot of money at the same time. ChezVera offers a range of amazing Christmas cutters of different shapes such as: Christmas Trees, Stars, Angels, Santas, Reindeers, etc. Our cookie cutters will surely help you create magical Christmas decorations! Which cookie cutters are you going to choose?

Ingredients for Salt Dough:

1 Cup of Patent flour (USA – Pastry flour)

1 Cup of Plain flour (USA – All-purpose flour)

1 Cup of Salt

1 Cup Hot Water

1 tbsp. Sunflower Oil

Required baking tools:

Cookie cutters

Twine or Ribbon

Method: Salt Dough

Mix all the ingredients until smooth. The dough should not stick to your hands. If it does stick, add a little more flour.

Tip: First add salt to the water and stir until all the salt has dissolved. Then add the rest of the ingredients and mix thoroughly.

Using a cookie cutter, cut the dough into desired shapes. Place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Use a toothpick to poke a hole at the top of each ornament for hanging.

Let air dry for several days.

Tip: I flipped my Christmas ornaments over regularly to make sure they dry evenly. Once your Christmas ornaments are dry and ready for hanging, you can also paint them.
