Legend has it that ghosts came to haunt the living. The tradition was to dress up frighteningly in order to ward off the spell. One of the Halloween symbols is a pumpkin – how delicious in cupcakes!

Making Halloween shortbread cookies: Vera's recipe

 

 

To make Halloween shortbread cookies, here is a very simple recipe that you can make with your children. More and more parents are looking for some simple and user-friendly recipes to make with their children. Moreover, baking at home gives you a possibility to choose high quality ingredients (organic, gluten-free, etc.). Homemade sweets are more delicious than bought ones anyway!

 

Here are the necessary ingredients (portion for 12 people or a group of 15 wild children!):

 

Ingredients:

 

250 g Flour

150 g softened Butter

150 g fine Sugar

1 Egg

1 Pinch of Salt

 

Method:

 

Place sugar, salt and an egg into a mixing bowl and mix the ingredients together. Afterwards add all flour at once and knead the dough. Add softened butter cut in small pieces and knead the dough quickly by hand. Wrap the dough in a plastic foil and let it rest in a cool place for 45 minutes. Roll out the dough (about 3 – 4 mm thickness) between two sheets of baking paper. Using our Halloween cookie cutters, cut the dough into desired shapes (see the links below).

 

Preheat the oven to 180 °C and bake your cookies for about 10 minutes. Then take your cookies out of the oven and let them cool before serving.
