Galette des Rois (King Cake)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

 

2 Packages Puff Pastry

140 g Almond Flour

100 g Sugar

2 Eggs

75 g softened Butter

1 Egg White

1 Bean

Optional: 50g Crème pâtissière for baking a real “Galette des Rois”

Method:

 

Put one round of puff pastry on a baking sheet. With a fork, stab little holes over the entire surface of the dough. In a bowl, mix almond flour, sugar, 2 eggs and softened butter. Add the Crème pâtissière. Spread the dough with the filling. Hide the bean in the filling and cover with the second piece of puff pastry, pressing the edges to seal. You can use puff pastry also for decorating your cake – our cookie cutters will help you with it. Heat the oven to 200 °C. Brush the cake with egg white and bake it for 20-30 minutes. Check on your cake during baking regular.
