Heart Cookies with Marzipan

These melt-in-your-mouth cookies with marzipan are delicious and tender. Bake them as a perfect surprise for Valentine's Day – or for any other special occasion!

 

Ingredients: Heart Cookies with Marzipan

 

100 g Marzipan

50 g Powdered Sugar

Juice and Zest of 1 organic lemon

1 Egg

100 g softened Butter

100 g Flour

80 g Cornstarch

1 tbsp. Baking Powder

 

Optional: Cherry or Redcurrant Jam

Piping bag and piping nozzle

 

Method: Cookies

 

Using a hand mixer, mix together an egg, marzipan, sugar, lemon zest and juice and butter until smooth. Add flour, cornstarch and baking powder and mix well until a smooth batter is obtained.

 

Line your baking sheet with parchment paper. Fill a piping bag (with a star piping nozzle) with the prepared batter. Then pipe heart shaped cookies onto the baking sheet. (Tip: Pipe 2 drops touching each other to form a “V” / heart shape). Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Slide the baking tray into the oven and bake your cookies for about 10 minutes. Then take the heart-shaped cookies out of oven and let them cool after baking.

 

Cookie Decoration (optional)

 

Choose a jam that has a smoother consistency (without lumps and fruit pieces) and use it as a filling. Then sandwich the cookies together. If you want, dust them lightly with a powdered sugar too.

 

 

Tip: To make your cookies even more flavourful, make them as small and thin as possible.
