Chocolate hearts with marzipan (St. Valentine)

Ingredients:

For Chocolate Hearts:

210g Butter

100g Powdered Sugar

310g Flour

60g Ground Almonds

1 piece Vanilla Sugar

1⁄2 tsp. Cinnamon

1⁄2 tsp. Lemon Zest

25g Cocoa

For homemade marzipan:

75g Ground Blanched Almonds

150g Powdered Sugar

5 drops Almond Flavour

5 tbsp. Water

For garnish:

100g Chocolate

Method:

Chocolate Hearts:

Mix all the ingredients together and shape the dough into a ball. Roll out the dough to a 2 mm thickness and cut out cookies using our heart-shaped cookie cutter - https://chezvera.com/en/valentine-s-day. Arrange the biscuits on a baking sheet covered with baking paper. Preheat the oven to 180 °C and bake them about 5-7 minutes. Let your cookies cool. Your chocolate hearts are done.

Homemade Marzipan:

Mix ground almonds with 75g of sifted sugar. Add almond flavor to the sugar - almond mixture.

Dissolve the rest of the sugar in the water and bring it to the boil. Let the syrup cook for a while, so that the mass is thicker and reduced.

Little by little pour the sugar-almond mixture into the syrup. Mix it using a spatula and then knead it with your hands until you can form a non-sticky ball.

Roll out the marzipan to a 3 mm thickness using the same cookie-cutter as before. Your marzipan hearts are done.

Glaze:

Melt the chocolate. Dip half of each cookie into it. Let your cookies cool on a rack.

Put the marzipan heart between two chocolate hearts.

Your chocolate hearts with marzipan are done! Bon Appetit!
