Celines Spicy Cookies





340 g Flour

120 g Butter

2 tsp. Mixture of Powdered Spices (cinnamon, four spices, cloves, grated orange rind)

1/2 tsp. Baking Soda

180 g Brown Sugar

1 Egg

60 g Maple Syrup

Icing Sugar

A few drops of Lemon Juice








Mix the softened butter with the brown sugar. Add the egg.

Mix the flour with 2 teaspoons of baking soda and 2 teaspoons of powdered spices.

Gradually, mix the two mixtures together and add the maple syrup.

Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Then, roll out the dough to 5 mm thick on a floured work surface. Cut out the shapes with cookie cutters.

Cookie Cutter "Gingerbread Man":


Put the cookies on a baking paper. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in a preheated oven at 180 °C. Then, let them cool on a rack.



For the frosting, mix 2 tablespoons of icing sugar with a few drops of lemon and some water.

Use a pastry bag to decorate the cookies, then let them dry before eating or storing them.
